We were impressed by the ringing endorsements from Vicki’s colleagues detailing her ability to nurture and develop writers, contributors and team members by creating a space for them to grow without micromanagement. Vicki’s strength as a leader was also demonstrated through a number of mergers and significant transitions in ownership, brands and the changing media landscape.
More About Vicki
Vicki Wood is the editor of Pharmacy Practice + Business and CanadianHealthcareNetwork.ca, where she has spent over three decades covering the Canadian pharmacy profession. She began her career in 1984 as an editorial assistant for a trade directory at Maclean Hunter, eventually moving into production and then writing for various B2B journals before landing a reporting position with Pharmacist News—and eventually the editor’s role at Drugstore Canada. She has guided the publication through successive mergers, ownership transitions and re-brands, maintaining a clear editorial mission throughout: inspiring Canadian pharmacists and pharmacy owners to be their best.
Known for her talent-first leadership philosophy, Vicki has cultivated journalists, bloggers and contributors over the course of her career, giving emerging voices a platform while maintaining the highest editorial standards. She has also led the brand’s transition to a digital-first model, growing its presence across newsletters, social media, and the web.
Her work has earned numerous industry honours, including a 2025 NMA: B2B Brand Award, Kenneth R. Wilson, Tabbie, and Folio awards, and the Rogers CEO and Ted Rogers Innovation Awards. Beyond her professional life, Vicki has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to community service, including 21 years as founder and coordinator of the Knox Youth Dinner and Food Bank, recognized with the Rogers Community Involvement Award. She is based in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
